i heart my mom

So I know that mother's day has come and gone but I have no idea where the time went. I am constantly in a whirlwind of my "to do" checklist. Needless to say, I have failed this mother's day. Not that she hasn't been on my mind. I love you mom!
Here are some random thoughts I have had about my mom lately.

-my dad once bought a blue dress with big blue earrings to match. (I seriously thought they were blue diamonds). I remember being only 8 years old and she would go out on dates or to firesides with my dad and before she got ready she would ask us what we thought she would wear. I always told her to wear that blue dress with her blue diamond earrings. I loved that my dad bought it for her. (he has always been a sweetheart). I always thought she looked gorgeous in it.

-once my mom picked up my little/big brother Daniel and body-slammed him while playing around with him. We were shocked at how strong she was for being only five feet.

-my mom wants to be taller after the resurrection so she can reach my 6, 4' dad. I think Heavenly Father will still keep her short because she is just so cute that way.

-my mom would make us weed our grandma's huge garden every Saturday for the whole summer. I always thought it was cool that she would be right out there with us, though.

-my mom knows how to can anything and she once made 89 loaves of bread in one day.

-my mom makes the best rolls and apple pie. I don't like anything about Thanksgiving except for that.

-my mom makes at least 10 plates of goodies every Christmas and we would have to carol and deliver them on Christmas Eve. It was important for us to do that before any presents came.

-my mom never grounded us. She just gave the speech about losing trust and learning to make better choices. We wanted her to trust us.

-my mom never gave us jobs. She just said that when she asked, we should be expected to obey.

-my mom always had us dressed and to church on time on the second row. Today this AMAZES me. (I still can't get that one together yet) :) Including a roast in the oven and dinner ready when we got home.

-my mom drove us 45 minutes one way every Sunday morning to church alone (while my dad was already there in meetings). I remember sliding on black ice. She got out of the suburban in her high heels to check if we hit anything and then she got back inside and continued to church.

-my mom developed her talents and learned to make beautiful wedding cakes and she can sew anything.

-my mom always pays her tithing even when she has no money to provide her kids.

-my mom has bore her testimony to me over a million times. I know what a testimony is because of her.

-my mom taught me how to make my bed like the nurses make the beds in the hospitals.

-once my mom let me pick out my own material and she then stayed up all night making it into shorts. Laura had to wear them too. (sorry Laura about those asian lady shorts)

-once my mom made us swimsuits made from not swimsuit material. I hope she never tries that again. haha

-my mom always looked beautiful when she was pregnant and she was always pregnant.

-my mom drove my sister 3 hours one way every week just to get her the help she needed to grow up healthy. Now she will graduate from High School this year.

-my mom had 10 kids and a number of miscarriages.

-my mom will have a ton of grandkids to spoil and keep her busy.

I love my mom. I love my dad. I love that my mom loves my dad. I love that my mom still likes to spend time with my dad. That makes me feel like the luckiest girl alive.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY
